I was at the 7Mary3 concert in Dallas at the Bronco Bowl. It was the most awesome ever. I must admit I was expecting to be a little disapointed, because I was figuring that they wouldn't sound near as good as they did on their album. Boy was I wrong! Poe was the opening band, and they were pretty good, but it was obvious everyone came to see 7Mary3. When they finally got all the equiptment set up, a guy came up to annouce the band. Then the lights went out, and you could see 4 shadows walk onto the stage. Suddenly the lights came on, and at the same instant, Jason Ross burst out with the song MY MY. The whole crowd immediately responded. There was so much excitement and energy coming from the band, and running rampant through the crowd. Following My My, was Water's Edge, which just really rocked. The mosh pit was cool. No suicidal psychos. And the people were cool. Someone would fall down, and instantly, someone else was helping them up. Everyone of their songs rocked. The crowd was going wild, but in a good way. About midway through their set, everyone started chanting "Cumbersome" When they finally played it, everyone freaked. It just rocked so much. After the set was over, they left the stage, but everyone kept cheering, screaming, whatever, so they came back out and played two more songs. Then came the part that really earned my respect for 7Mary3. I'm referring to how they are so down to earth, and cool to the fans. Jason Ross went back and forth along the front of the stage high fiving everyone, and Giti through his drumsticks into the crowd, and one of the guys I was with caught one. Then, Casey Daniels walks out with a pen and starts signing autographs. I was so exicted, I ripped off my shirt and got him to sign it. There was a whole crowd of people trying to get an autograph also. I ran to the T-shirt stand and bought a shirt, and when I went back down to the stage, Casey was still signing. I handed him the shirt I had just bought and he signed it. I told him thanks and high fived him. My friend also got the drumstick signed and his ticket stub. Not only did 7Mary3 put on a good show and pleased all their fans, but they also proved that the fame hasn't got to their heads.
